High School graduation is a wonderful goal, but for some of us, the path to get there can be hard to navigate. Are you missing class credits? Do you need to make up courses? Well, we have good news: your past doesn’t define you – and your future starts now!
Credit Assessment
A lot of students come to us and don’t know where to start. What courses are required for graduation and what credits do they need to focus on? The short answer: we can help. The first week that you enroll at Edge, you’ll meet with a school counselor to review your transcript and make a plan to get you on track to graduate. This includes talking about your future goals, any scheduling challenges we need to work around – jobs, transportation or family obligations, and a math and reading skills review. Your support team will help you with computer access, provide information on clubs and counseling services and anything else you need. Then your teachers work with you to set weekly and sometimes even daily goals to help you meet your course due dates.
Keeping it Flexible
Just like life, your graduation plan can change to adjust to accommodate new circumstances. Do you have a busy schedule? Our Northwest campus offers the option of taking just morning or afternoon classes. Our Himmel Park campuses offer classes in the morning and time for clubs, enrichment activities and interventions in the afternoon. You choose what works for you! Do you want to stay in school and accelerate your credit recovery over the summer? Just let us know! We will work with your schedule to make sure you are on track to reach your graduation goal.
You Choose Your Pace
Your job is to come to school daily and use your class time efficiently. If you do that, most students should be able to complete a course within 8-12 weeks. Want to speed up that timeline? You can work on your coursework outside of the school day, come in early or stay late and get help from your teachers or tutors if you need it. And unlike traditional school, you earn credit when you finish all of your assignments with at least a 70% or higher. You don’t need to wait until the end of a quarter or semester – earn that credit and move on to the next course!
Start – and Finish – Any Time
Unlike other high schools, Edge enrolls throughout the year. Just fill out a registration packet and you can start the next school day. We’ll work with your schedule – even if it starts tomorrow. And graduation? As soon as you earn your last credit, that diploma is yours. No need to wait until the end of spring semester. You earn the same diploma that you would get from a traditional high school, but at Edge you can graduate and start the next chapter of your life when you want.
