Edge High School is a tuition-free charter school that does things differently. Unlike traditional high schools, where you may feel like just a number, Edge puts you at the center of your learning – how you do it, when you do it, with goals that work for you. At Edge, you’re in charge.
Learn Your Way
Our self-paced learning model starts with setting goals that you want to achieve. Our teachers, staff and counselors are here to support you every step of the way – from daily check-ins to learn about any challenges you may be facing, to setting you up with free resources that can help you overcome obstacles, to self-care strategies that build skills for life.
During your time here you’ll learn how you learn, and we’ll give you tools to help you succeed. Whether you’re a visual learner, a kinesthetic or auditory learner, we support diverse learning styles – even inside the same classroom. We work with you to determine your growth mindset and what your strongest intelligences are – and match your skills with career choices beyond high school.
We’ll help you create an individualized lesson plan that will get you to your graduation, in a way that works for you. Every Edge student is on their own unique path here, so you don’t need to worry about comparing where you are in your learning journey. Missing credits? No problem. Need to retake courses? You can do that here. We’ll meet 1:1 with you as you progress towards credit earning and celebrate your successes along the way.
You’ll be able to select from a wide range of courses for our Wednesday Electives, based on your interests and what sounds fun to you. Our Wednesdays give all Edge students a break from traditional high school courses, and an opportunity to explore new subjects – from yoga and art to courses that focus on building life skills and healthy habits.
A Schedule that Fits You
Edge features schedules to fit pretty much any lifestyle. Do you have a busy schedule? Our Northwest campus offers the option of taking just morning or afternoon classes. Our Himmel Park campus offers classes in the morning and time for clubs, enrichment activities and interventions in the afternoon. You choose what works for you!
Most students should be able to complete a course within 8-12 weeks. If you want to speed up that timeline, you can work on your coursework outside of the school day, come in early or stay late and get help from your teachers or tutors if you need it. You can even stay in school and earn more credits over the summer. And unlike traditional school, you earn credit when you finish all of your assignments with at least a 70% or higher. You don’t need to wait until the end of a quarter or semester – earn that credit and move on to the next course!
A Space to Speak Up
As an Edge student, we want to hear your voice. We’ll help you build skills to speak up for yourself, make your own decisions about your life, and identify others who will support you in your goals – skills that will help you navigate your life now and after graduation. Our Emotional Intelligence Curriculum teaches tools that can help you become more self-aware, so you can identify and process emotions, create healthy relationships and make decisions that are best for you.
Our tuition-free charter high school puts you in charge of your own learning – and your own success. Find out more and enroll today!
