Edge High School is a tuition-free, alternative charter school that offers flexible, individualized paths to graduation for our students. So what does that mean when you compare us to traditional high schools? We like to think of ourselves as unconventional. Unique. And maybe a little bit weird.

We Speak Your Language

When you walk through the doors of Edge, you’ll find a community of staff, teachers and students who want you to just “be yourself”. We welcome all students – regardless of your past, current challenges, or life circumstances. The tough experiences that you may have had in former schools? You won’t repeat those experiences here.

You’ll be treated differently at Edge than at other schools. Your teachers and staff want to get to know you, and we all go by our first names with our students. We’ll check in with each other daily – to talk about school, upcoming projects, challenges you are facing, or just to say hi.

Are you struggling with anything at school or at home? We are here for you – to listen without judgment, provide support, and connect you with resources if you need it. We provide free on-site licensed social workers to help deal with things that may not have anything to do with school – and help you move on. Need more support? We work with Pathways, Casa De Los Ninos, Community Bridges Incorporated, and pay for a Student Assistance Program to connect interested students to free counseling and support resources. We provide proactive health support too – from COVID vaccines to AIDS testing, thanks to our partnerships with the Pima County Health Department and Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation (SAAF).

We Take a Different Path

Our self-paced learning model doesn’t look like traditional high schools. At Edge, you are in charge of learning, at your own pace. Our counseling staff functions on a 50:1 ratio of students to staff, vs. traditional high schools which maintain 300:1 or more.  That means we have plenty of time to meet with you to map out your goals and create an individualized lesson plan that gets you to graduation, on a timeline that works for you. We have two campuses, a 4 hour school day, and a year-round option for classes that enables you to graduate at any time during the school year. Our Emotional Intelligence Curriculum teaches skills and tools that can help you navigate your life now and after graduation. We are ready to support a path through high school that is unique to you!

We Like to Have Fun

Four days a week we teach core classes that you might find in most high schools. But on Wednesdays, we take a break from our regular schedule and offer a variety of elective classes. You can choose from core electives or new electives taught by our community partners. From art to healthy relationships, yoga to employability skills, you’ll definitely find a class that fits your interests.

Ready to get off campus and explore? We have a calendar of field trips planned for this year that includes trips to:

The University of AZ Museum of Art

Museum of Contemporary Art Tucson

The University of AZ Poetry Center

The University of AZ Sky School

We Want You Here

Edge is a small school – our two campuses enroll under 250 students, compared to 1,500+ at other schools in Tucson. Our class sizes average 22 students or fewer, vs. 30+ at nearby traditional high schools. That means you are a valued member of our school community. You’re free to express your opinions here, and you will be heard. Your classmates and teachers want to hear your voice and your ideas. At Edge, you matter.

Our unconventional tuition-free charter high school welcomes all learners, and supports paths to graduation that are as unique as each of our students. Find out more and enroll today!
