Friday March 27 –

Dear Edge Students and Support Persons,

This week our teachers worked diligently to make contact with each of you to make sure you have access to curriculum and to check in on your well being.

Those of you who need technology or other curricular resources will be contacted on Monday about a date to pick up those resources.

Our teachers collaborated several times this week to arrive at a plan for providing instruction beginning next week. Teachers will have scheduled virtual office hours and be available for private virtual meetings. These schedules will vary by teacher and will be posted on Edge’s website on Sunday along with instructions on how to participate.

Please know we are thinking of each of you during this unprecedented time. We are grateful for each of you and appreciate the opportunity to support, engage, and instruct you in new but meaningful ways.

Thank you!

Dear Edge Community,

We understand that there is much concern over the disease caused by the coronavirus, known as COVID-19. The School is working closely with the Pima County Health Department and other health agencies on all health issues. In the event that COVID-19 becomes an issue in our community, we will work in conjunction with those agencies to make decisions about the best ways to keep our students, staff and community healthy.

Please find attached an important letter from the Pima County Health Department. Pima County Health Department is committed to providing the most up-to-date information at www.pima.gov/CoV. Additional information is available on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Website.

Because protection from all respiratory viruses is similar, this is a good time to review strategies to prevent the spread of many illnesses, such as influenza and coronaviruses:

Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If you cannot wash your hands, use alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60-95% alcohol.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. Germs spread this way.

Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

Use a tissue to cover coughs and sneezes, then dispose of the tissue. When a tissue is not available, cough or sneeze into your elbow.

Stay home when you are sick, and keep sick children home as well.

  • A reminder that students with a fever of 101.0 or greater will be sent home until they are fever-free for 24-hours.

Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

We will continue to remain in close contact with county and state health officials regarding the COVID-19 and we will keep you updated with any developments that could impact our schools.

Sincerely,

Rob Pecharich | Principal | Edge High School – Himmel Park

Dave Thatcher | Principal | Edge High School Northwest
