Edge High School teachers may seem like superheroes at times, but they only have two hands and 24 hours in a day just like the rest of us. And while each member of our team is ready to do anything to support our students, we also know the infinite power of a strong, collaborative community. That’s why we lean on our community partners to help us bring the very best to our students—from career opportunities to critical resources and mental health support to mentoring. We’re proud to work with Tucson organizations that help round out our tuition-free offerings and expand what’s possible for every Edge student.
Health, Wellness, and Support Services for Edge Students
Our long-standing partnership with the Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation (SAAF) continues to make a powerful impact for our LGBTQ+ students. Through programs like ALLY, YELL, and LINK, SAAF staff visit both Edge campuses to teach suicide prevention, substance abuse prevention, and healthy relationship building—providing life-saving education and access to support through their Eon Youth Lounge and Thornhill Lopez Youth Center.
Other incredible partners also help ensure our students’ well-being:
- COPE Community Services offers on-campus support and connects students to off-campus individual and family therapy, peer groups, and small-group coping workshops.
- Tu Nidito provides grief support groups for students coping with loss, helping them understand grief and develop healthy coping strategies.
- Casa de los Niños connects students to behavioral health services, including therapy, case management, and psychiatric care.
- Clarvida provides access to individualized case management and therapy at their Tucson locations.
- notMykid offers prevention workshops for students and parents, plus virtual therapy and support groups related to substance use and mental health.
- YOTO (Youth On Their Own) supports students experiencing homelessness with financial assistance, coaching, and essential resources to help them stay in school.
Education and Empowerment
Edge students also benefit from opportunities that enrich learning beyond the classroom:
- The University of Arizona Sky School co-teaches the Ecology of the Sky Islands course with our science teachers, culminating in a four-day research field trip to Mt. Lemmon’s Steward Observatory.
- Earn to Learn provides financial literacy education, FAFSA support, and a scholarship matching program to help students pursue higher education.
- Washington Federal Bank teaches financial literacy classes to strengthen money management skills and confidence.
- AZ Youth Partnership (AZYP) brings classes on healthy relationships, substance abuse prevention, and resiliency.
- Amistades offers culturally relevant STI and HIV prevention education through the lens of cultural values and community.
Career Readiness and Leadership
Our community partners also help students prepare for college, career, and life after graduation:
- Goodwill teaches employability skills—resume writing, interviewing, and financial literacy—while helping students set personal and career goals.
- WorkAbility supports students with disabilities through job readiness training, self-advocacy, and supported employment opportunities.
- Lapan College Club invites Edge graduates to its Leadership Summit, a three-day training to build confidence and connections for higher education and the workforce.
- Rotary Club of Tucson facilitates an after-school Interact Club that fosters leadership and community service.
- Rotary Club of Oro Valley provides writing tutors and community service opportunities for Edge’s Northwest students.
- All In Youth Pickleball teaches teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence through pickleball coaching and mentoring.
Creativity, Connection, and Confidence
Beyond academics, Edge students have access to enrichment programs that build confidence and foster expression:
- Live Theatre Workshop brings inclusive, no-audition improv classes to Edge, helping students build communication skills and confidence through creativity.
- Boys to Men Tucson leads weekly talking circles that give masculine-identifying students mentorship and space for reflection, emotional growth, and healthy identity development.
Because of Our Partners…
Each of these organizations expands what’s possible for our students—meeting needs, nurturing talents, and opening doors to a brighter future. During our annual Edge Day of Service, students give back by volunteering with these same organizations, learning firsthand the impact of community and contribution.
Our partnerships are ongoing opportunities—so even if the school year has started, it’s never too late to join the Edge community and benefit from these incredible resources.
