Senior Class of 2020,

Congratulations on all your success and accomplishments! We could not be more proud of you!

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback on graduation on our recent Graduation Survey that was sent out. The results of that survey clearly indicate that the senior class prefers an in-person graduation as opposed to a virtual graduation as 100% of respondants listed a virtual ceromony as the least desirable outcome. Further, 40% of respondants indicated they would not attend a virtual ceremony.

Seniors–your voices were heard! Edge High School will postpone graduation until it is safe to hold an in-person graduation. We will continue to follow the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control and the Pima County Health Department and adhere to the directives of Governor Ducey. That may mean graduation is delayed into the Fall Semester of 2020. We will let you know on a graduation date as soon as we have one.

While this global pandemic has deeply impacted our communities, it has given Edge High School’s Senior Class of 2020, the time and space to shine. I am reminded of a quote from Robert Freeman who said: “Character is not made in crisis it is only exhibited.” Seniors, you have indeed demonstrated your true character through your tenacity, determination, ability to quickly pivot and adapt, and your relentless pursuit of your future self. Your efforts through this challenging period of time will forever be remembered!

We cannot wait to celebrate your achievements with you!

Stay safe and be well!

With gratitude,

Rob Pecharich
