At Edge High School, student success doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens through relationships—relationships with caring adults, mentors, and community organizations who believe that young people deserve opportunity, dignity, and second chances.
Our students come to us with incredible resilience and equally real challenges. What allows them to persist, grow, and ultimately graduate is a network of support that extends far beyond our classrooms. Whether students enroll to accelerate their learning or for the purpose of credit recovery, our community partners help students engage and prioritize their health, well-being, and learning!
All In Youth Pickleball. Every Wednesday, their coaches come to Edge to teach a pickleball class that blends physical activity, skill-building, teamwork, and confidence.
This partnership goes far beyond instruction. All In Youth Pickleball:
-
Provides coaching on fundamentals and skill development
-
Teaches character and sportsmanship
-
Promotes individual growth, confidence, and perseverance
-
Provides all necessary equipment
-
Pays for students to participate in pickleball tournaments
For many Edge students, this is their first opportunity to participate in a sport in a structured, supportive environment. The lessons learned—commitment, accountability, and resilience—carry directly into the classroom and into life beyond school.

Science, Exploration, and Learning Beyond the City
Edge students also benefit from an inspiring academic partnership with the University of Arizona Sky School. Through this collaboration, students participate in quarter-long ecology courses taught on campus at Edge, co-taught by University of Arizona graduate students who bring college-level knowledge and mentorship directly into our classrooms.
These hands-on science courses culminate in a powerful capstone experience: a four-day, three-night trip to the Steward Observatory on Mount Lemmon.
During this immersive experience, students:
-
Engage in real-world ecological and scientific research projects
-
Learn directly from university researchers and graduate students
-
Participate in leadership development and team-building exercises
-
Experience college-level learning in a university research setting
For many students, this trip represents their first time traveling overnight for an academic purpose—and often their first exposure to a university environment. The experience builds confidence, curiosity, and a belief that higher education and scientific careers are within reach.
Expanding College Access Through Dual Enrollment
Edge High School is also proud to partner with Accelerate ASU, which provides students access to online dual enrollment courses that allow them to earn high school and college credit simultaneously.
Through Accelerate ASU, Edge students can:
-
Enroll in college-level coursework while still in high school
-
Earn transferable college credits at a significantly reduced cost
-
Experience the expectations and rigor of higher education
-
Build confidence and momentum toward postsecondary goals
This partnership opens doors for students who may not have previously seen college as an option. By removing traditional barriers to access and offering flexible, online coursework, Accelerate ASU helps Edge students take meaningful steps toward college and career readiness—on their own terms and timelines.
For many students, earning college credit while still in high school is a powerful reminder that their future is full of possibility.
Removing Barriers So Students Can Stay In School
Another essential partner is Youth On Their Own, an organization dedicated to supporting students experiencing homelessness or housing instability. Through this partnership, Edge students receive critical assistance that helps remove barriers to education—whether that’s help with basic needs, resources, or encouragement to stay enrolled and on track.
When students don’t have to worry a
bout where they’ll sleep or how they’ll eat, they can focus on learning, healing, and planning for their future.
Supporting Grief, Healing, and Emotional Well-Being
Many Edge students have experienced significant loss. Through our partnership with Tu Nidito, students have access to peer-support grief classes that acknowledge loss and create safe spaces for healing.
These groups help students understand they are not alone—and that grief does not define their future. Emotional support is not separate from academic success; it is foundational to it.
Why These Partnerships Matter
Each of these organizations shares something in common with Edge: a belief that young people are more than their circumstances. Together, we create a school environment where students are supported academically, emotionally, physically, and socially.
Community partnerships allow Edge to:
-
Expand learning opportunities
-
Address real-life barriers
-
Provide holistic support
-
Build trust and belonging
Most importantly, they help students keep showing up—even when school has been hard in the past.

In addition to the highlighted partnerships above, Edge High School is proud to collaborate with a wide range of community organizations that provide academic enrichment, life skills, leadership development, wellness support, and pathways beyond high school.
