Our students reach their graduation goals, thanks in part to the support and encouragement of warm and friendly staff. To get to know Edge better, we recently asked Dave Thatcher some questions. Here’s what he had to say!
What is your role and how long have you been at Edge?
I am the Principal of Edge’s Northwest campus. I have been with the Edge school district for 5 years now.
What was your favorite subject in high school and why?
This is a tough one. High School was never my favorite because we moved a couple of times during my Freshman and Sophomore years. I did really enjoy being in the drafting class with other students who wanted to draw and learn how things worked. I enjoyed our business class and the DECA program where I made some lifelong friends.
When did you know you wanted to be an educator?
My love for coaching really led me down the path of becoming a teacher. I enjoy working one on one with students and seeing the light bulb come on when they figure out something for the first time.
What do you love about working at Edge?
Edge NW has such a family and team feeling so it makes it really exciting and fun to come to work every day.
What are some albums/music groups that you listened to in high school?
Scorpions, Metallica, pretty much any heavy metal hair band.
What else would you like us to know about YOU?
I have been married to Michelle for 28 years. We have 3 amazing kids and three dogs and a ferret that keep us busy. I enjoy the outdoors, hiking, and camping. I like to cook, spend time with my family and travel whenever possible. I’m a Broncos and Wildcats fan and watch sports as regularly as possible.
