Dave Thatcher Portrait

Born and raised in small town central Wyoming. I moved to Tucson in ’86 graduated from Amphitheater High School and then attended University of Arizona where I received my Bachelors in History. I started my teaching career in the Amphi School District, teaching World History, Economics, and American Government.  I completed my Masters in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University and have spent the past sixteen years as an administrator in TUSD, Amphi and with Pima JTED. I am married, we have three amazing kids, a yellow lab and two ferrets.

I am extremely excited about being at Edge High School to help support the students, faculty and staff. I have over twenty years of experience as an educator, father, coach, and leader. My professional career and life experiences have given me insight into the challenges students face in today’s world. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and working with them to help overcome their challenges and guide them to their future by unleashing their talents and potential. I have sponsored many after school clubs and coached several sports during my career and truly enjoy spending time with students in and out of the classroom.

I enjoy the outdoors, hiking, and camping. I love to cook, spend time with my family and travel whenever possible. I’m a Denver Broncos and Arizona Wildcats fan and try to watch sports as regularly as possible.
