We are Edge. We are an alternative high school tackling challenges like credit recovery and diverse learning styles in a flexible, shorter school day. Here are ten reasons why Edge high school can get you to graduation:
1. Graduation success for thousands of students
Since 1985 we have helped thousands of students graduate high school. Over the decades we have seen extraordinarily challenging scenarios for our students morph into graduation success.
2. Credit recovery
Our high schoolers often enroll with us when they believe that high school graduation is out of reach, that they cannot possibly recover the credits necessary to earn a diploma. Edge is where you, too, can graduate.
3. Flexible morning or afternoon schedules
We offer flexible morning or afternoon class schedules. We focus on three classes at a time and a blended curriculum.
4. High-quality, passionate teachers, small classes
Our high-quality, passionate teachers are dedicated to personalizing instruction in our deliberately small academic classes. We keep our classes small to ensure you get the attention you need. And our experienced teachers are ready to adapt to your individual learning style. We’re excited to help you meet your academic and life goals.
5. Judgement-free zone
Our students enroll at Edge because we are a judgement-free zone; we are a safe and supportive environment to learn. We do not tolerate shaming or stigma, and we do not shy away from difficult situations or conversations.
6. Committed to you, the individual
You are not alone at Edge. We meet with you repeatedly, tracking your goals, and assessing how we can help even more. We schedule 1:1 connections with teachers and counselors regularly and we host assemblies to recognize our students’ achievements.
7. Tuition-free high schools in two convenient campuses
We are a tuition-free, public high school, with two campuses — one in Central Tucson near Himmel Park and one in Northwest Tucson.
8. Equal footing
We all use first names here because we are on equal footing and building a trusting, solid rapport is a priority. For thirty-five years, mutual respect has been the backbone of our high school culture — and supports our students’ pathways to graduation.
9. Removing obstacles to learning
Our students have individual, often extenuating, life experiences. At Edge, it’s our job to help alleviate or remove obstacles to learning. With electives, summer classes, and ways to earn credit outside of school, we make learning as accessible as we can.
10. Building confidence
We grasp what’s needed to achieve your graduation goals, and strive together to build momentum and confidence, right alongside credits earned.
