At Edge High School, many of our students need to work. Some help support their families. Others are saving for college, a car, or paying their own bills. Whatever the reason, showing up to a traditional school that runs seven-plus hours a day, five days a week, can feel challenging when you also have a work shift to get to.
As a Cognia-accredited school, Edge holds the same academic credibility as any traditional high school and offers a model designed to fit your real life and get you to the diploma finish line. Here’s what that looks like.
A Schedule That Works Around Your Job
Edge offers both morning and afternoon sessions at each campus, and the school day runs just four and a half hours. That’s it. You pick the session that fits your life. Come in early and have your afternoons free, or start later and keep your mornings open.
In-Person or Online: You Choose How You Show Up
Edge offers in-person and online-distance learning options, and the curriculum comes in both text-based and web-based formats. How you learn can match how your brain actually works.
What makes this possible is the one-to-one relationship between students and staff. Teachers and counselors at Edge get to know you as a person, not just a student ID. They understand your job, your schedule, and your goals. When life shifts, a new job schedule, a new responsibility at home, something unexpected, that relationship means your learning format can shift with it. You don’t lose everything because life changed. We adjust and keep moving.
Three Classes at a Time, So You Can Actually Keep Up
At most high schools, students juggle five to eight courses every semester. At Edge, you can focus on three academic core classes at a time: one math, one English, and one science or social studies, plus two electives that each meet twice a week.
That focus matters when you’re also working. You’re not spreading yourself thin across a full course load while trying to stay awake for a closing shift. You go deep on fewer things and actually finish them. This is our self-paced academic progression model at work. You move through coursework at your own speed, and your teachers help you set weekly goals that are realistic for someone with a life outside of school.
Your Paycheck Shouldn’t Have to Cover School
When you’re working to make ends meet, the last thing you need is a school that adds to the financial pressure. Edge knows school shouldn’t be another bill, so they remove the costs that get in the way.
Here’s what Edge covers so your paycheck doesn’t have to:
- Tuition-Free: Edge High is absolutely free to attend.
- Technology: Every student gets a Chromebook for use during the school day, with a take-home checkout option available.
- Supplies and materials: All curriculum, textbooks, and classroom supplies are provided. No supply lists, no fees.
- Transportation: Edge provides eligible students a free Sun Tran bus pass at both campuses.
- Dual Enrollment: Eligible students can take FREE college courses through Arizona State University at no cost earning real college credit before graduation.
- Success Coaching: Edge is expanding its Success Coaching program this fall with free, one-on-one support from trained coaches to help students reflect, set goals, and build real-world skills.
No unexpected costs. No hidden fees. What you earn is yours.
