At Edge High School, our tuition-free charter school welcomes new students throughout the year. Which means that we are frequently answering the question: “Why should I choose Edge?” There are so many reasons – here are our Top Ten!

First and foremost. We want you here. No matter what your experience has been in other schools. No matter what barriers you may think you have towards graduating. Our teachers, our staff, our students all want you here. You’ll find Edge to be a warm and welcoming learning community that will support your goals and celebrate your successes. With just under 250 students on two campuses, our small-school environment is a place where you can come and be as you are. We can’t wait to meet you.
2. Learn What You Love
Edge graduates go on to pursue careers and post-secondary education in areas that they love. We’ll work with you to identify directions you can take after graduation, and then create a plan to get you to your dreams. We can connect you with local businesses to help you build your life skills and explore career paths. And we have community connections and resources to help you apply for college or consider your options in the military.
3. Graduation At Your Pace
All of our students have busy schedules, with job and family demands that can make school work a challenge. At Edge, we’ll help you take charge of your education and graduate at a pace that works for you. We offer credit recovery and traditional education paths; computer based or text book learning resources; flexible hours; two campuses; and year-round scheduling – lots of options to make your graduation a reality.
4. We’re Fun!
That’s right – at Edge we bring JOY to learning. You’ll get away from your computer and outside the classroom to learn about science, take field trips to local businesses, and spend time helping others in our annual Day of Service. Our weekly clubs and extracurriculars build friendships and inspire new interests. And we host a weekly Snack Bar and other themed events that bring our Edge community closer together, in ways that everyone enjoys.
5. We’ve Seen It All
You are welcome at Edge, regardless of the obstacles that you may be facing outside of school. From tough family and relationship dynamics to job challenges to mental health struggles – we’ve seen it all. We will help you process and cope with challenges, and can connect you with outside resources if you need them. Edge is a shame-free zone where you are always free to share your worries with our staff.
6. Discover A Passion
There are so many ways to engage at Edge, we’re certain that you’ll find topics that interest you. Each year we expand our offerings to include new art classes, Design Days, extracurriculars and clubs; off-campus activities like field trips, the University of Arizona’s Sky School, and other special activities. Got an interest? Chances are if you approach a teacher we’ll find a way to help you learn more – and gain high school credit at the same time!

Our individualized plans reflect the learning style and schedule that is unique to you. We teach Growth Mindsets and the science behind it – which means that even if you struggle with certain skills, your abilities aren’t set in stone. We offer individualized learning to support learners of all styles – each learning plan is unique, designed to fit the circumstances of your life.
