Choices are hard.
Pizza or tacos.
YouTube or TikTok.
Picking out a movie that everyone will like.
But choosing a high school doesn’t have to be hard.
Edge is a 100% tuition-free and accredited charter high school that is devoted to helping students have an incredible high school experience. Enrolling in 9th grade gives students time to take advantage of all we offer. Here are 5 reasons to choose Edge for 9th-12th grade:
#1 We’re a small school
Edge is small, safe, and filled with caring people. A small school means greater access to the things students want to do, like art, cool clubs and electives. It also means greater opportunities to connect with people and build relationships that support life in high school and beyond.
#2 Learning at Edge is personalized
Edge is self-paced and personalized. Our caring teachers get to know each student, their goals and the way they learn so we can create a plan together. Students can cruise through classes on their own timeline with the help and support of teachers and counselors who understand what high schoolers need.
#3 Field trips and community partnerships that change lives
At larger schools, students are lucky to take a field trip once a year. At Edge, we take students on approximately 4 or 5 field trips a year! A few favorites: live theatre productions at the Arizona Theatre Company, a visit to the Copper Queen Mine Museum, and some of our vocational field trips to learn about career options like the Southern Arizona Construction Career Day and the culinary arts at Pima Community College. And of course, our perennial favorite Sky School field trip. We also have an extensive number of community partnerships that provide resources and education as well as internships and employment opportunities to Edge students. We call these trips and partnerships life-changing because our students say the opportunities expand their horizons, forge strong friendships and inspire career options all while building valuable community connections.
#4 Focused, in-depth instruction
Edge students take only 3 subjects at a time, allowing them to focus on the subject at hand without the overwhelm of a packed schedule. As soon as those 3 classes are complete, students move on to the next three in their plan, allowing them to move through high school at their own pace.
#5 We have pickleball!
Get rid of the notion that pickleball is just for retirees – our latest elective is taking Edge by storm. Pickleball is easy to learn and gets everyone moving and laughing. Thanks to our partnership with All In Youth Pickleball and Tucson Area Pickleball, instruction, equipment and clothing are all included for free when you sign up!
